Genre: Paranormal Shifter Romance

My Thoughts on the Book:

This is the story of dragon-shifter Daphne Drak who finally finds her mate after thousands of years, and she and Everett must fight to save Daphne’s sister who has been kidnapped by the arch-nemesis of the Drakaina. This was an entirely new author to me.  I don’t read many shifter books, but I did enjoy this one. The worldbuilding was well-done and not complicated, which I liked. I don’t know anything about how the military works, but it felt like the author did because the scenes with the military officers seemed authentic, which was nice. Overall a well-written story and a quick, enjoyable read.

My Thoughts on the Book:
This whole universe was new to me, as this was the first book I’ve read by this author. The book was quite engaging and easy to understand, even if you are brand-new to the series. The heroine, Fiora, has incredible fortune-telling abilities and can tell everyone’s future but her own. She is also cursed in that she is compelled to tell the truth when asked about anything/ It’s rather horrifying to think you would be forced to answer even the most personal questions with sheer honesty. A lot of bad boy romance “heroes” might take advantage of that, but Jaxx (a dragon shifter) doesn’t which I love. When Fiora’s visions foretell disaster, she must find a way to alter the future. Overall, this was a fascinating read with excellent world-building.

If you have not read The Magician’s Curse, do yourself a favor and start binging all three books in this fascinating series. This series features the most dashing magician hero you can imagine, as well as a gripping tale filled with demons, intrigue, and a family curse that must be broken. This is a highly imaginative paranormal tale with truly engrossing world-building and page-turning suspense. Just when you think you know what will happen…you don’t.  Stephen Dagmar is a truly unforgettable hero and the romance with his one true love, Herman (female, but with a male name ) is a sweeping love story for the ages. If you’re looking for a truly binge-able series – this one is it!

My Thoughts on the Book: It’s the first in her new series of vampire mafia romances about Gabriel, the heir to the Vampire Syndicate mafia and his love Mila, who ran away from him years ago under mysterious circumstances. When she returns he has every reason not to trust her. Thus begins an intriguing reaquaintance that kept me up late reading for more than one night. The story is thrilling and unexpected and the characters have great chemistry. If you aren’t into steamy romance then this isn’t for you. I loved how well written it was and the fact that the story moves along quickly. Just like Gabriel and Mila, the reader won’t really know who to trust. I thought it was awesome!

My Review

This is an unusual tale full of twists and turns involving a sexy and clever magician, his lovely magician’s assistant and soulmate, a family curse, and a jealous romantic rival hell-bent on revenge. Stephen Dagmar, or The Great Dagmaru, is no ordinary parlor-trick magician. On the contrary, his magic is real, as is his love and passion for Herman. If you’re in the mood for some romantic suspense, steamy passion, and a gothic tale of magic and revenge, this is the book for you!

What I Loved About this Book:  

This was a highly entertaining, sexy, and romantic read. It featured a strong female character, a witch, who falls in love with a vampire. The hero in the book is sexy and strong, and the two leads make a terrific couple you can really root for. The book had the perfect amount of worldbuilding for my tastes; enough to set the scene but not so much that it was boring or overwhelmingly detailed. 

What Could Have Been Better: 

There were a few too many typos. The writing was quite good, but the book could have done with maybe one more proofread by a professional editor. 

Sexual Content: Yes. Steamy, sexy, well-written sex scenes. 

Overall: 

An entertaining, sexy paranormal romance with the perfect amount of worldbuilding. I would recommend this book even for those who don’t normally read paranormal romance.

The Magician’s Curse – Romance Novel Addicts Anonymous Recommended Read

This was a gripping read with truly engaging characters. This book is an excellent mix of romance and intrigue, and is a nice change of pace from so many cookie-cutter romances. Stephen Dagmur is a compelling and somewhat tortured hero, and the heroine is innocent but strong and resilient. An excellent start to a new series and doesn’t end on a cliffhanger.
